The crowdfunding campaign is called Project Curvy Girl Movie Star. The award-winning screenwriter, who wrote the films “Just Wright,” “Brown Sugar,” and “Like Mike,” wants to make this film to address Hollywood’s ideal of beauty. “Beauty doesn’t only come in a size two,” Michael Elliot, the CEO of Michael Elliot Media, said. “By rarely ever seeing curvy girls as love interests in films, Hollywood is perpetuating a view that fuller-figured women aren’t desirable, sexy, or beautiful, and that they are unimportant. Michael’s story follows a character named Simone Edwards, who will be played by a beautiful curvaceous actress. Simone is an ambitious and successful business executive. When Simone pitches the acquisition of a small and novel family-owned business to her boss, she is dispatched to a small town to make the deal. What should have been the quick round-trip flight and big job promotion becomes a life changing experience as Simone discovers greater meaning in her life and most unexpectedly, love.
