Men are generally exposed to alcohol or drugs at an early age – particularly in their teens, often developing a rapid addiction. And, while some may come to an early realization and solution for their usage problem; many others can be exposed to a long life of suffering from addiction if help is not sought at an early stage. With a specialized inpatient treatment program that is designed for helping teen boys and young men, resources that offer the answers and successful deterrents to a life of progressive addition, or even death from abuse, are available.
While parents and family members suffer from the fears and worries associated with a teen or young man that has become addicted to substance abuse; they are not typically equipped with the treatment and coping mechanisms that can bring about change. In fact, when one member of a family is dealing with addiction; many times all other members of the household are adversely impacted. Professional care is needed from a staff of licensed addiction treatment professionals – those who have the tools and experience necessary to bring about the change and healing for both the addicted teen/young man and all other members of the household.
With vast experience, it has been discovered that teen boys and young men can succeed with an inpatient treatment program that will assist them with their substance abuse needs, while providing a challenging opportunity for physical growth. A specifically designed inpatient wilderness program can provide therapeutic opportunities for the emotional and physical transformation of boys and young men between the ages of 14 and 24 years of age. By incorporating personalized treatment plans, individual and family therapeutic counseling opportunities, along with challenging outdoor experiences, young men and boys are able to undergo the changes necessary to live a life free from dependence on alcohol or drugs.
Through an innovative model of outdoor wilderness treatment, a platform for transformation and growth for teens or young men who come with substance abuse issues is available. Equine therapy (Eagala) can successfully incorporate horses for mental and behavioral health therapy and personal development. This program offers a collaborative effort between a licensed therapist and on-site horse professional to help patients achieve treatment goals. Additionally, with ranch maintenance, outdoor recreation activities, including hiking and camping, 12-step programs and psycho-educational lectures, each teen or young man can return to a life of sobriety.
Inpatient treatment may be the course of action required for any young man to discover a healthy approach to their life. Contact with our licensed therapist can help bring the answers your family may have about how to approach sobriety for your teen or young man, as well as how to restore harmony for your other family members.
