A journal that tells people that literature matters, that words can change the world

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – October 15, 2015 - Conclave, a journal that celebrates the power of literature, was recently announced. This incredible journal will remind people that literature matters and that words can change this world for the better. “A conclave is a meeting place where people who care can gather to discuss how to make the world a better place,” explained Lara Bernhardt, Conclave Editor-in-Chief. “Literature and writers have always been at the forefront of positive change.” Conclave wants to create such a meeting place where writers and words can, to quote Joseph Conrad, “teach us how to see.” They want to encourage new and emerging writers, and to keep print publishing alive. Conclave will open the door to submissions from established and emerging writers. Each issue will feature exceptional fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and photography.

The theme for the February 2016 issue is Writing for Change. Change can take many forms: LGBT issues, environmental concerns, personal relationships, the impact of technology, and much more. Change is an inevitable force in people’s lives, ideally though not certainly a force for progress and growth. Conclave is looking for work that envisions all possible futures, better tomorrows and bitter tomorrows, changes in love and life and the heart of humankind. However, before everyone can enjoy this journal, Conclave needs help. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $6,432 by November 9, 2015. The funds raised will go towards the two issues scheduled for 2016. Donations will help defray the costing of printing, design, editorial input, maintaining our Submittable account, and marketing.

William Bernhardt , author of more than forty books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, is one of the advisors behind the project. “Literature has had a transformative effect on my life. I understand the power of the written word. We need a forum to help others experience that same power.”

To help bring this incredible project to life, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here. Perks will be delivered by February 2016.

Please keep in mind this is an “all-or-nothing” deal, which means if the campaign does not reach the funding goal then the project cannot move forward. So know that any amount given can make a difference, and this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special campaign! Help Conclave reach the goal by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The more people know about this, the more support the campaign will receive.
