Craftsvilla.com is India’s largest online ethnic store for sarees, salwar suits, lehengas and other Indian products.
Craftsvilla.com is India’s largest online ethnic store and a pioneer in sarees, salwar suits, lehengas and other Indian ethnic products. In order to improve customer experience and interaction with the brand, Craftsvilla.com is now looking to set up experience centres in first Metro cities and then non-metro in order to give an in-store like experience to customers and supplement its online business.

Online marketplace of sarees, salwar suits, lehengas, jewellery, home decor and other ethnic products, Craftsvilla.com plans to launch ten experience zones across the country by March 2016 to give customers to actually touch and see the products it sells. Manoj Gupta, Founder of Craftsvilla.com said, “With the e-commerce market growing steadily in India, it is essential that the customers get acquainted with products thereby inculcating brand loyalty. Our centres will bridge that gap for a better customer experience.”

The idea is to boost online sales by focussing on user experience and pre-sales service. In addition to having some of the website’s best selling products on display, the staff will be trained to help customers make online purchases while in the store. The stores would also have customers chose from a variety of ethnic services – applying Mehndi for example. Mehndi artists would be stationed at the store and anyone can walk in for a free Mehndi.

In fact, Craftsvilla has launched an endeavour to create the biggest database of Mehndi Designs. It is celebrating the Billion Mehndi Festival along the same lines where each and every person who has applied Mehndi is invited to upload his or her mehendi design.

Besides free Mehndi designs, there would be workshops on traditional Indian recipes, fashion styling and historical storytelling.

The first two experience centres will be set up in Mumbai and will be followed by three in Delhi, two in Bangalore, one in Chennai, one in Hyderabad and one in Kolkata. The process for the setting up the experience centres has ealready begun and locations are being finalised.

“The focus would also be to provide customers the top selling products of Craftsvilla which they can try out before they buy. Though the products will be only available online, our staff will provide them assistance with choosing the product,” said Gupta. The company had recently said that it would keep aside about Rs 65 crore from Rs 221 crore funds raised towards setting up these experience centers. Craftsvilla follows the ecommerce sites like Pepperfry to set up experience centers for customers who are still apprehensive about shopping online without experiencing the product first.
