The 2015 Advocare V100 Texas Bowl on December 29th at 8:00 p.m. will feature the Texas Tech Red Raiders from the Big 12 against the LSU Tigers of the SEC. This will be the first time LSU will be playing in the Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston. Interestingly, LSU has appeared in 47 bowls over the years and the team has amassed a record of 23–22–1 in these games. 2015 will be their 16th year in a row for appearing in a postseason college bowl game and this will be their first appearance at the Texas Bowl. Texas Tech had a record of 7-5 for the 2015 college football season and the team ended up tied for fifth place in the Big 12 with a conference record of 4-5. LSU’s overall record for the past season is 8-3 and 5-3 in the SEC.
The NRG Stadium was formerly known as Reliant Stadium has been open since 2002 and this venue is the home of the Houston Texans from the National Football League. The venue is also the home of the Texas Bowl and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and has also hosted the Super Bowl and WrestleMania. Several soccer matches have been held here over the years featuring nations like the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Panama.
