“What would you do if violence broke out at your workplace?” is the question that owner John Nottingham asked himself when arranging for Maman to come to Phoenix.
With terror threats on the rise, and mass shootings like that in San Bernardino, California, both civilians and law enforcement officers are increasingly interested in proper training for personal protection.
Maman served in the Israeli Special Forces as the commander of the Counter-Terror School’s International Training Section where he was responsible for developing and delivering Counter-Terror, Hostage Rescue, and Krav Maga training to Special Forces Units from various countries around the world including the United States (Army Special Forces, Marines Special Operations Command, Rangers and Asymmetrical Warfare Group), that attend the Israeli Special Forces Counter-Terror and Special Operations School in preparation for high risk deployments such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
The one-day seminar held by Nottingham Sword and Shield will cover a variety of subjects ranging from empty hand tactics to weapon attack survival.
Attendance to a seminar like this one has a standard fee of $300. However, because of recent violent events in San Bernardino, Colorado Springs, and Paris, Nottingham Sword and Shield has reduced the fee to $100, to give further accessibility to anyone concerned with personal safety.
The event will be held at USA Martial Arts, 4731 E. Greenway Rd. Suite 9 in Phoenix.
