ATLANTA, GA – Dec 04, 2015 - Orrin C. Hudson, the internationally renowned #1 Amazon bestselling author, founder and executive director of the non-profit organization, Be Someone (www.besomeone.org), has been named the inaugural Chess Life magazine cover contest winner. Hudson appears on the cover of the December 2015 issue, now available at uschess.org. Readers were given an opportunity to submit an essay of 200 words describing how their activities are advancing the mission and vision of the US Chess Federation. The magazine’s circulation is 50,000 and has been in existence since 1946.
“Orrin Hudson’s entry was selected because his of highly impactful story about how the game of chess has affected him personally.” said Daniel Lucas, US Chess Director of Publications. “The way he is using the game to give back to the community is an especially compelling example of a US Chess member advancing our mission and vision.”
“Without question this is the biggest honor of my career,” said Hudson. “When I began my work as a motivational speaker 15 years ago, I never thought I would appear on the cover of the premier publication for the game of chess. It’s an honor that I am humbled by and will cherish for the rest of my life.”
The mission of Be Someone is to build character, hope and inspiration, so that kids can set and achieve lifetime goals, realize their full potential, and Be Someone.
