RICHMOND, Virginia – November 9, 2015 - “Fhtagn: Rock Opera of Doom” is an independent, horror-comedy movie and musical stage show from filmmaker Fabian Rush. Rush is the creator of the YouTube web-series “Alien Face Bashers” and several other features. Fabian is also the singer for the industrial rock band Synthetic Nightmare. He is obsessed with the Lovecraft Mythos and has been since he was way too young to be reading horror. Now, after letting this film concept develop in his mind and on paper over the last ten years, he is ready to make this movie. “Fhtagn: ROD” is a culmination of multiple entertainment forms, all aimed at celebrating the brilliant stories and characters envisioned by horror master H.P. Lovecraft and the many writers and artists that have since added to his mythos.
“Fhtagn: Rock Opera of Doom” follows Abdul Alhazred, who is an aspiring poet and songwriter who unwittingly stumbles into a secret meeting between ancient evil gods scheming to take over the world. They present him with the opportunity to write a book of spells that will bring him great power and fame, and without understanding the dark consequences, Abdul jumps at the chance. He is tricked into writing a book, “The Necronomicon” that will allow these demons to permanently cross over onto the Earth and rule. However, before this film can be made, Fabian Rush needs help. That’s why he launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $5,000 by November 25, 2015. The funds raised will go towards completing the film properly, including cast, crew, and visual effects.
