While going through the inpatient, transitional and outpatient portions of the Amicus House program, each patient receives a personalized assessment and individualized approach to their care.
If you, a friend or family member has recognized a problem with alcohol or drug abuse, is it necessary to seek professional care?

It is first necessary to recognize that drug or alcohol dependency is a progressive disease and can even lead to death.  When one has continually tried alone to stop the destructive use of alcohol, pain killers, sleep medications, or other harmful drugs and realizes that abstinence is beyond his or her control, seeking the help of a professional may be the best course of action.  The next decisions are choosing the appropriate treatment facility and whether inpatient or outpatient care is in order.

When one’s environment is riddled with emotional triggers that initiate a reliance on drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism, it may be necessary for the addict to experience complete removal from their environment in order to restore their emotional health and gain a permanent state of sobriety.  Amicus House has been in business since 1990, providing a successful healing environment for many who have been unable to break their dependence on drugs or alcohol on their own, while operating within the confines of their current lifestyles.

A three-part drug treatment program, the first stage includes 24-hour inpatient attention from a team of trained counseling professionals.  Lori Johnson, the program’s driving force, has been in the drug and alcohol treatment field since 1989 and has achieved recognition for her caring and dedicated approach to helping individuals and their families deal with the aftermath of out-of-control alcohol or drug abuse.  A small facility that offers individualized care and attention, they have achieved a 67% rate of success with patients whose sobriety has exceeded two years without relapse.

While going through the inpatient, transitional and outpatient portions of the Amicus House program, each patient receives a personalized assessment and individualized approach to their care.  With individual and gender specific group counseling opportunities available with a team of experienced professionals, each patient is able to discover what emotional and/or physical issues may be the driving impetus behind their chemical dependency.  In addition to counseling assistance, each patient is introduced to educational opportunities, including life skills lessons, behavioral modification approaches and relapse prevention lessons.  Family issues are often one of the leading forces behind a reliance on drugs or alcohol and our program helps the patient deal with these issues in a more meaningful and healthy manner.

Continuing counseling assistance and education is available to each client who chooses Amicus House for drug/alcohol rehabilitation.  With a clean and sober half-way house available for the patient, once he or she leaves the 24-hour treatment facility, each client is offered the opportunity for continued support while returning to work, school or other endeavors.  And finally, upon a return to their own home environment, our patients enjoy ongoing weekly counseling sessions to support them throughout this final transition back into their world of sober living.
