BANGALORE, India – October 27, 2015 - Seven-year-old, Safiya, is in critical condition and needs financial help for the medical care she is undergoing at the Rainbow Children’s Hospital. In the recent update, she has been having continuous seizures, and the CT scan showed swelling in her brain. Safiya has been diagnosed with meningitis and pneumonia posing threat to her life. Right now, she is in the Intensive Care Unit and has to be monitored continuously. She had to be actively put into a therapeutic coma to stop the seizures to control any further damage to her brain.
Safiya was in another hospital, which did not have adequate equipment and facilities to treat her. Once she started to get continuous fits, her mother, Ayesha, started to panic. She could see that the child needed better care. By this time, her family with the support of Building Blocks had already published their first campaign to raise $500. Moving Safiya to a better hospital, for expert care, means even more expenses. In order to help rescue this beautiful life, they launched another campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise $10,000 by November 3, 2015.
October 26, 2015 – After a couple of week treatment at Rainbow Hospital, Safiya is doing much better and on a path towards complete recovery.
