Philadelphia, PA - HuddleCamHD is best known for inventing the world’s first zero-latency wireless USB camera the HuddleCam Air. First recognized by unified communications expert Ira Weinstein of Wainhouse Research who said the camera could “replace wired cameras in most conference room and even some auditoriums” the HuddleCam Air is now known throughout the web conferencing industry. But HuddleCamHD did not stop at the wireless USB camera. Understanding the pitfalls of bluetooth technology HuddleCamHD applied the same technology to wireless USB speakerphones with the HuddlePod Air released in July 2015.
Today HuddleCamHD is known as the “Wireless USB” leader for online video conferencing equipment. Matt Davis, lead engineer at HuddleCamHD, first noticed the need for a high quality wireless USB conference camera when testing consumer grade wireless webcams. “They did exist,” Davis mentions, “but they had at least one second of latency which eliminates usefulness for web conferencing. We built a camera with near zero latency, real optical zoom and high quality optics for the professional video conferencing market.”
Since the HuddleCam Air’s debut in Q4 of 2014, the company has ramped up production alongside their latest new wireless USB speakerphone the HuddlePod Air. Paul Richards, Dir of Business Development explains “Once our wireless USB camera started to get around we were always being asked about a wireless speakerphone. The bluetooth speakerphones available today were low quality and not always ready when end users need them due to pairing necessity.” The HuddlePod Air uses a discrete 2.4 GHz wireless connection with a USB 2.0 wireless receiver. Richards notes “We decided a wireless USB receiver that didn’t require any device pairing would not only increase quality but also reduce set up hassle.”
Wireless USB video conferencing products are becoming a industry standard and HuddleCamHD aims to manufacture plug and play devices built for PC-based online web conferencing.
