Speaking at a company-hosted event recently, company CEO Dr. Liu offered his vision and views as to what lies ahead for the company, and the fiber optic component and solution manufacturing industry in general.
An astute visionary and veteran of the industry, Dr. Liu noted that his company does not at all fear recent entry of many new designers and manufacturers into the polarization-maintaining and high power components product industry. According to Dr. Liu, today’s clients are looking for stable partners that can deliver high quality products and very cost effective solutions. It’s not easy for new competitors to provide tested and reliable products like the company’s 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM, 980/1550nm Fused WDM, 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module, and 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module. When clients compare their options, especially against some of the up-start enterprises, they realize that over the many years of its existence, DK Photonics has proved that it is exactly such a partner that clients can rely upon.
This industry recognition, and the confidence that clients have in the company, allows DK Photonics to position itself as the “go to” solutions provider for existing as well as future clients.
As a result, Dr. Liu believes his company is in an excellent position to not only maintain its competitive advantage in the industry, but that the company will expand its range of solutions for optical fiber sensor and high power laser applications, as well as to innovate in the area of polarization-maintaining components and high power components.
Being the industry leader in manufacturing of highly sensitive components such as 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM, 980/1550nm Fused WDM, 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module, and 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module solutions, means a lot of the start-up costs have already been expensed. The company’s state of the art sprawling 13,900 square foot facility has environmentally controlled equipment, and advanced temperature and humidity monitoring technology in its workshops.
Dr. Liu believes that startups will face huge capital expenditure in such areas, which are likely to erode their profit margins, making them less of a threat to industry leader DK Photonics for the foreseeable future.
