The creator of Anyone Can Learn Math, a video series that helps students learn math quickly and easily, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for development.

Anyone Can Learn Math is a series of instructional math videos that examines math concepts just as students do in a math class or college course.  The videos will cover everything from beginning algebra to first-semester calculus.  According to the creator, “Math is something that should be a free gift to everyone. The goal is simple: to make videos that explain math at its basic level.”

Of all the math videos on the Internet, few offer comprehensive, skills-based teaching.  Instead, most tend to focus on specific, discrete skills as requested by viewers.  However, building a strong foundational understanding of math skills is the key to long-term learning, according to the Anyone Can Learn Math creator.

Each video will be uploaded to YouTube and made available free of charge through that platform as well as the website, http://www.mymathmanual.com/.  Other websites will also have the opportunity to publish the videos free of charge.

For an example of a typical video in the series, see:

The current series of videos will cover Beginning of Algebra (Algebra 1, part 1); Intermediate Algebra (Algebra 1, part 2); College Algebra (Algebra 2); Trigonometry (including prep for calculus); and Calculus I.  Each segment will cover 10 weeks of time for a total of about one year for the entire course.

The Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/326239109/anyone-can-learn-math, offers pledge levels from $1 to $2,000, with rewards including video credits, hoodies, polo shirts, mugs and phone cases.

For more information, see the Kickstarter page.
