PRETORIA, South Africa – September 8, 2015 - A woman named Corlea van der Walt has launched a campaign to help purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle. In September of 1979, she was a civilian passenger in a government vehicle which overturned and left her a paraplegic for the last 36 years. Despite it all, Corlea became a true inspiration for many and as music teacher she continued teaching piano and acting as accompanist for Youth Choirs. She has also been church organist for the last 35 years.
But for Corlea to remain active in her community and carry out her daily commitments she needs a special customized car, that’s wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, her current car has become unreliable and needs to be replaced. Corlea has decided to offer some of her paintings in order to reach her goal. So, to help Corlea buy a new wheelchair friendly vehicle, check out this campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $35,000 by October 11, 2015. The funds raised will go towards purchasing a new vehicle, driving aid installation, and a wheelchair lift.
To help this woman keep her independence, please visit the IndieGoGo campaign or click here. Backers can choose from many attractive rewards as a “thank you” for their donations.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to help someone in need!
