It can be a challenge for people with disabilities, such as Down syndrome, to find clothing that fits. Some people with special needs struggle with items such as buttons or zippers and many people with Down Syndrome have different body shapes that makes finding clothes in general a challenge. Downs Designs and NBZ Jeans work to combat the challenges faced by these individuals by producing high quality clothing that helps improve their quality of life.
For people with disabilities who otherwise can function well in society, such as having a job and dating, the struggle to find clothing that fits well and looks presentable can be a big challenge and can lead to discouragement. Downs Designs works to provide a voice for those with this struggle. By using elastic waists, spandex, and similar products, the brand was able to produce jeans that looked fashionable but easy to wear. This type of product helps give these individuals some much desired independence, improving their quality of life.
