Dylan E. Raymond, author, speaker and owner of Rucksack to Briefcase, LLC , of Houston, Texas, tops Amazon.com best seller lists with the book Put Me in Coach Vol 1, featuring coaches from around the world who reveal their strategies for success in life and business.

The book hit best-seller lists on Amazon.com in US and Canada and Australia within 24 hours. It was ranked #1 in the “Ethics” category, as well as #3 in Kindle “Consulting” and #4 in the overall books “Small Business and Entrepreneurship” category.

Dylan E. Raymond is used to beating the odds. As a young African American born into poverty, living in public housing projects with 5 boys in a 2 bedroom apartment in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, Raymond believed his best hope for getting out of the hood was to get a good job. So he did just that.

In his early 20’s, Dylan was working with the New York City Transit Authority which is considered one of the better jobs in New York City. He started out as a cleaner cleaning the subways, then was promoted to conductor, then to tower operator and then big time as a motorman. This all happened in a short few years span of time, before he knew it, he had 8 years under his belt.

He began to question his career choice, however, when he realized that in order to qualify for a full pension, he needed to complete 30 years of service and be 62 years of age. Because he started so young, that meant he would have to work for 40 years, just to get 1/2 of his regular pay and maybe a watch. When he requested two consecutive Saturdays off and was denied even though he had ample vacation time saved, he knew something had to give. He began exploring the option of being his own boss.

He was introduced to network marketing and the concept made sense to him, Raymond described his attraction to the business model in a recent interview, “You build a business by sharing the opportunity and inviting others to partner with you. You also offer products and services and benefit by word of mouth advertising.” He knew he’d found what he was looking for.

After 8 years with the New York City Transit system he quit his job. Dylan’s family and some friends thought he was crazy to walk away from a good job. No one understood the passion, purpose and desire he had to build a business, and that he could be rewarded for his hard work. His early success in network marketing left him with a love for the entrepreneurial life which he now shares with clients in his latest venture, Rucksack to briefcase where he works with former military and family members transitioning from military to civilian or want to start a business.
